Invasive species, such as sericea lespedeza and eastern red cedar, have increasingly become an issue within the watershed that we have seen extensive numbers of acres turned down for CRP contracts due to invasive populations. Landowners who have not been aware of sericea in the past are now having to learn to control this aggressive species.

David Kraft will be the presenter on Thursday, March 3rd, at the Arlington Amish Mennonite Church. David is a retired Range Management Specialist with the Natural Resources Conservation Service. His presentation will include basic guidelines for grass management with a special focus on strategies for controlling invasive species. Whether your concern is Old World bluestem, sericea lespedeza, sand plum, or trees, David will have some advice for keeping ahead of the game.
